My Journey with Microdosing GLP-1 Medications for Menopause Relief
Hello everyone, I'm Jessica Brown, a nutritionist and compassion teacher. Today, I want to share my personal experience with GLP-1 medications, specifically compounded Trizepatide, and how it has helped me manage my menopause symptoms. I've been microdosing this medication for nearly 11 months, and the benefits have been life-changing.
Why I Turned to GLP-1s
My journey with GLP-1s began with my identical twin sister, who used them for weight loss. I was intrigued and started doing my own research. I came across a podcast by Dr. Tina Moore discussing microdosing, and it sparked my interest in trying it for my menopause symptoms. One of the main reasons was to address the "brain fog" that many women experience during menopause. GLP-1s can help normalize insulin and glucose, which can in turn improve cognitive function. They also help to decrease inflammation, which is a common cause of fatigue and joint pain during this stage of life.
A Look at My Health
While I've always maintained a healthy weight, I was concerned about my visceral fat levels, which were elevated. This was a red flag for me due to a family history of cardiovascular disease. As I entered menopause, I also became insulin resistant and my blood pressure started to rise, even with hormone replacement therapy. In fact, blood work for a life insurance policy showed that I was close to being pre-diabetic.
My Doctor’s Approval
Before starting, I consulted with all three of my doctors: my cardiologist, my primary care physician, and my gynecologist. They all gave me the green light, citing positive research and the potential benefits for my overall health.
The Results
The results have been remarkable. My brain function and ADHD symptoms have improved, and I've experienced a significant reduction in inflammation. My blood pressure and lipid levels have normalized, and I've even lost some of that stubborn visceral fat. I feel better in my body and can enjoy a wider variety of foods without any issues. My gut health has also improved, and while it wasn't my main goal, I've lost about four to five pounds over the past 11 months.
I want to emphasize the importance of working with a healthcare team when considering any new medication. I'm grateful for their support and guidance on this journey. My hope is to continue with this treatment indefinitely, as it has made a world of difference in my health and well-being.
